I am one week away from my next Walt Disney World trip and needless to say, there is not much sleep happening around here! There’s something about a Disney trip that makes you procrastinate all the adulting yet find lots of time for Disney DIYs. I think the thing I’m most excited for on this trip is finally getting to try gluten free churros! They have them at the Nomad Lounge in Animal Kingdom and I am SO ready to try them out.
So ready in fact, that I made a shirt just for the occasion. Now, obviously there are MANY people who go for the regular churros so this works perfectly for my gluten free and non gluten free friends.
I have the file available as a .png if you want to cut out the letters for a freezer paper stencil or for the Silhouette, or you can access it in the Cricut Design Space here. Other than that you’ll want a shirt (I bought this one on Amazon with same day shipping!), heat transfer vinyl, a cutting machine, and the Easy Press or iron.
I just used black heat transfer vinyl for a stark contrast cut out with my Cricut. Don’t forget to “mirror” the image if you’re using a cutting machine so that the letters go on your shirt correctly.
Then, probably the hardest part of the whole thing – weeding the excess vinyl! I love this tool from Cricut for getting in those letters.
Take a little time to make sure it’s placed well on the shirt. I usually aim for around 2″ below the collar and then measure from the sides to make sure it’s centered.
I used the Cricut Easy Press at 305F for 30 seconds on this shirt. Because the file is larger I did it in 2 “batches”.
That’s it! The hardest part was deciding what to say on my shirt and then designing the layout the way I wanted so that’s already done for you!
Here’s a look at how this shirt from Amazon hangs. It could definitely work with leggings. I buy shirts between size small and medium. This is a medium and is nice and roomy (and doesn’t cling).
