I LOVE hats but I’m not very organized. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve flipped through my pile of hats only to not find the one I was looking for. I wanted to get them up off the shelf (and piled on top of each other) and where I could see them. I finally remembered to pick up some hooks at the store and put together a little hat wall that took all of 3 minutes.
I used the cheapest wall hooks but you could get the more decorative ones if you think you’ll be looking at the hooks often (or if you have a lot of baseball caps.
To place the hooks I used my hats as a size guide and sort of held them up with the hook as I placed it on the wall. You could lay them out on the floor or just hang the hooks at even intervals.
I definitely have more than 6 hats so I’ll need to pick up some more hooks. I’m thinking I’ll use decorative hooks for my baseball hats and hang these bigger hats on the less decorative types. This was was being used for absolutely nothing so why not put it to work right?!
As a bonus there are no holes involved. Most hats have a tag or hook on the inside so I used that. I don’t have a lot of super expensive hats so I’m not too worried about damaging them from hanging. I just picked up that cute rose colored one for $7 at Target so if it lasts me a year or so I think I’ll be good!
As I collect more I can layer the brims as well if I run out of space. The wall is super tall but I don’t know that I want to have to pull in a ladder to get them. Maybe I can hang the off season hats towards the top?
Do you have a lot of hats? How do you store them?
Soooo what kind of hooks did you use? My husband is using these huge nails and it drives me nuts. I’d like something nicer.
I used Command hooks. Removable ones like these – https://amzn.to/2LEQiAu
