I love scrapbooking and I love Starbucks® so trying out the new Starbucks® Caffé Latte K-Cup® pods was the PERFECT excuse to have some friends over for a fun afternoon of coffee, conversation and crafts.
Parties at our house usually happen throughout the day – we have a start time but no end time because, well, we know how to talk with our friends 😉 I thought it would be fun to plan a day of crafting for the girls where the guys could feel free to hang out and chat too. Starbucks® sent me this awesome box that inspired the whole night. It included their Caffé Latte K-Cup® pods that I was anxious to try.
It’s always fun to set up a party for friends to come over. A party to me means decorations, foods and some sort of activity. For this day I thought I’d try a new set up. I emptied my bookcase and just put the contents on a rolling bar cart and scooted it into the office. I was left with a blank slate for a party set up! I picked up a new set of gallery frames that I thought would be perfect for photos, but would also make a fun party backdrop.
The morning of, I set out the dishes and decorations. I love doing this even the night before so I don’t have to worry about scurrying to do it before everyone gets here.
For the frames I added some scrapbook paper, a photo from the box I got, a photo I took last year while traveling, this beautiful printable from Jones Design Company and this free printable I made just for the occasion! “Coffee and friends make the perfect blend” sounded like the perfect quote for the occasion!

For the coffee set up I had the Keurig plugged in, spray painted a thrifted spice rack to hold the pods, a pitcher of water and baskets of the Starbucks® Caffé Latte K-Cup® pods flavor packets. They are made from milk with no artificial ingredients and they come in 3 great Starbucks® signature flavors (Caramel, Mocha, and Vanilla) and 2 Starbucks® seasonal flavors (Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Mocha, available for a limited time). We were surprised at how few ingredients were in these!
This desk was set next to the bookcase that I left open for the food. Right before the party I set up some brunch food – a few quiches, oat blueberry muffins, a meat/cheese/cracker plate and a few treats of course. I always have things like fruit, veggies and chips stocked in the kitchen in case the party runs later.
As everyone arrived they went straight for the coffee – we all wanted to try it! These are so easy, just pour the flavor packet into a mug,
add the K-Cup® pod to the Keurig, brew and stir.
Both friends who loved coffee and those who only drink it when it’s flavored well loved these! All the flavors really are so good. I loved the mocha (made with real cocoa) and the vanilla!
The girls and I had promised ourselves that we’d get some scrapping done so while the guys were talking we set up at the craft table I put together. When I’m hosting a scrapbooking party I try to think about it like I do when I sit down to scrapbook. Limit supplies to everything that coordinates together and keep it simple with plenty of cutting tools and adhesives.
I put out all the supplies I used on this page and set it out as an example for inspiration! I put out some of my mini albums too because it always comes up at parties so it was fun to got through them together!
I decided to show everyone how I use random objects in crafting so we cleaned out a K-Cup® and used it as a stamp! Just ink up the K-Cup® like you would a stamp and press onto paper. You can use either side and it works with paint too!
I repeated the stamp and made up my own patterned paper.
Here’s what I came up with in just about the amount of time it took to finish off a cup of coffee! I ended up crumpling up the stamped paper to give it some texture.
Here’s what some of the other girls put together:
As we finished up our crafting (mostly chatting) we moved over to the living room to laugh and talk with friends – the best part of a party right?!
This filled my need for friend and crafting time all in one! It was SUCH a fun day. I’m so glad I have these Starbucks® Caffé Latte K-Cup® pods on hand for the next party because seriously everyone loved them and kept commenting on them throughout the day/night. THIS is why I have a Keurig!
Have you tried the Starbucks® Caffé Latte K-Cup® pods yet?
