It’s officially fall! It’s still warm here in Phoenix, but I love getting in the fall spirit by changing and updating different silhouettes around my home. I have a simple style, but adding a few new pieces, textures, materials, and a bit of fun is always a good idea for changing seasons, right?!

We recently added a new sofa and chair to the family room (in the place of our old sectional) and the corner was open and bare. I couldn’t find a side table that filled up the space since the sofa is so deep, so I made that myself. I couldn’t just leave an empty table, so off to Target I went!

First of all, I dare you to pass by those mugs in store and NOT buy one. I had the hardest time picking only two new ones. They are so cute and so fall! I wanted some fun pieces with a bit of texture, so I mixed and matched glass, metal, leather, and a bit of fabric with Threshold’s new fall–inspired pieces.

I love mixing textures and do it often throughout the house. It just adds so much interest without having to add a ton of new pieces. I layered a candle in a lantern here and added a bit of greenery along with this perfect mercury glass tray.

I love using trays because not only do they make serving guests or family member easy, it also protects your furniture.

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to hang anything on the wall, but when I saw this wire deer head I knew it would add just the right amount of fun to the space! The mirror and watercolor art finished it off perfectly!

It’s not fall without a new throw (or two or three). I can’t get enough of these in the house!

Starting with a blank slate can be intimidating, but I try to mix fun and function so every area of our house has a purpose. We have been loving this room SO much more since the complete makeover, and we love sitting here in the mornings while we drink a cup of coffee and get ready to start our day!
