I’m sharing my easy backyard party spread with Target Home as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #TargetCrowd
Summer entertaining is my absolute favorite. The colors, the weather (yes, even in Phoenix) but most of all, the late nights outside with friends! I was shopping at Target last week (surprise, surprise) and saw the Threshold melamine dinnerware and was totally inspired to up my outdoor party game. Who needs paper plates when you can use these super cute re-useable pieces mixed in with traditional serveware?
I told you using a desk for a party table was my new favorite! Burgers and hot dogs with a wide variety of toppings is definitely one of our “go to” backyard Summer party menu items. Jared makes an awesome grass fed burger and when you top them with sautéed mushrooms, onions, blue cheese, tomato, lettuce… you have a “fancy” meal without a ton of prep work.
I always leave out plenty to drink, but a wide variety usually isn’t needed. We go through lots of water and a water dispenser with diffuser is a great way to add a bit of flavor.
We still use some glass pieces, especially the favorites! But, I did add these plastic wine glasses to my new outdoor summer party collection that are great for any drink (plus, their great for those of us who tend to drop things).
Every summer I update my outdoor pillows and add a few new accessories. I LOVE the color palette in the outdoor section at Target lately!
Lawn games are also the perfect thing to add to your backyard for easy summer entertainment. They are fun for kids or adults and make for an easy way to get to know each other for new friends or some friendly competition for old ones.
Food + drinks + games and you have everything you need for a fun, successful summer backyard party. Make sure to add in some lights or lanterns because this party is sure to last into the evening (or it might be too warm to have it any earlier). Here is our party in action:
