It’s December 14th and we officially have some sort of Christmas decor up. No tree yet. Hopefully this weekend! Our house is SO close to feeling a little more normal though we definitely still have projects to work on. This weekend I’ll finish painting the hallway and hall baseboards. Jared MAY get to the backsplash in the kitchen and we’ll get the bookcases mounted to the wall in the office so I can finally get set up. I thought I’d show you at least what our mantle looks like for now since Christmas will be here before we know it! Simple cozy Christmas mantle at All for the Memories

Our plan was to have the fireplace re-done by Christmas but that quickly got pushed back. I want to fill in the mantle/arch area and tile with large concrete tiles all the way up to the ceiling to show of the high vaulted ceilings in the room. Then I’ll have a reclaimed beam type mantle. Since we were talking about re-doing it at first I hadn’t painted it with the rest of the room and it was a little strange to look at. I finished painting it and to spruce it up a bit until it gets worked on, I added some vinyl to the tiles to make it look like a brand new fireplace!

I’ll share a bit more on that after the holidays. I still need to finish the last 2 rows (I have the vinyl just need to print them) but wanted to show you what it looked like after I gave a peek on my Instagram stories.

I can’t wait to show you more rooms! Anyone else still trying to get their tree put up? I still haven’t even decided where to put it this year!
