Day trips or staycations are a favorite pastime for many Phoenicians (people who live in Phoenix) and many of us are familiar with the Rim Country whether it’s just to get away for the day, the weekend or to experience something other than the desert we’ve become so used to. There aren’t a ton of lodging options in the area if you want to stay overnight so when I saw a few pictures at the newly remodeled rooms at The Strawberry Inn I knew I HAD to check it out. I fell in love. (P.S. If you already know you want to go use code #memories10 for 10% off your stay!)
From the first look at the cute, alpine inspired building you can tell it’s a bit different than most lodging options in the area. The Strawberry Inn is located in Strawberry, AZ which is 108 miles from Phoenix. It’s a couple miles from Pine, AZ and 18 miles from Payson. There are 8 total rooms (2 rooms connect if needed, most sleep 2 with a couple sleeping 3) and it’s perfect for a couples or friends getaway as well as a family trip. Driving up, you get that nostalgic roadside stop feeling with an updated and trendy twist.
My favorite thing about the Strawberry Inn is that all the rooms are different. If you’ve seen the wildly popular show “Fixer Upper” that’s the general feel/possible inspiration for the rooms here. Modern meets Farmhouse, beautiful but comfortable and accessible. It feels much more like a home or property rental than a hotel (or motel). It’s actually ran more like a property rental as well. There’s no desk to check in to and you’re giving a code to retrieve your key from a lockbox when it’s time to check in.
They do have a small coffee pot and mini fridge available for quick snacks or coffee in the morning, hot showers, a nice tv for the evenings (because you’ll definitely want to be outside most of the day) a sitting area in each room, heater/ac and comfy beds (all so much more than I get when we go camping). Since they are also super reasonably priced, they make a perfect much more luxury getaway than most other offerings in the area!
Since I can’t get over how great these rooms are I thought I’d take you on a photo tour of all of them! Ready?
Room 1
Room 1 is the first room on the left if you’re looking at the Inn. It has a King sized bed and futon sleeper (sleeps 3).
Room 2
This is the room Jared & I stayed in. It has a Queen sized bed and futon which sleeps 3 as well. Rooms 2 & 3 connect by a door which would be perfect for a family with kids.
Room 3
Room 3 has a Queen sized bed and sitting area for 2.
Room 4
Room 4 is the last room on the bottom floor (on the right) and has a Queen sized bed as well as a futon.
Room 5
Room 5 is an “upper deck” room. It’s the first one on the left and has a Queen bed with sitting area for 2.
Room 6
Room 6, also upper deck has a King bed and sitting area.
Room 7
This upper deck room has a King bed and a desk perfect to squeeze in some work with your play.
Room 8
Room 8 is the last room on the right on the upper deck, has a tall King sized bed with a sitting area.
You can book whichever room you like, would work best or is available. Which one is your favorite?!
