I am ready to fully embrace fall around here and one way I love to bring in the season is through memories! Photos of past fall fun helps us remember new traditions we started (like the Thanksgiving family flag football game) and funny moments from past years. I decided to make a cozy little corner devoted to fall memories! A fun wall gallery that can be taken down after fall or switched up for winter.
The best way to put up seasonal decor? Command™ Indoor Hooks, Strips and Clips! They’re my favorite way to hang things up damage-free and remove cleanly without leaving holes or sticky residue left behind. Plus, you can re-use them for each holiday!
How to put together a fall memories wall gallery:
Start by laying out your frames, wreathes garlands or any decor you want on the wall – on the floor, This is the easiest way to arrange your items so you can see what they look like with each other.
I slipped the Command Metal Hook in there to see where it would be on the wall in relation to the frame above it. The other hooks/strips wouldn’t make a difference. Once I was happy with the layout I got to work placing the items on the wall.
I started with the first frame using Command Picture Hanging Strips. It tells you on the package which sizes are good for your size frame. I LOVE hanging pictures this way because it makes it super simple with no guessing. I use a level app on my phone to make sure it’s straight before applying to the wall.
Each package has instructions for adhering the strips and hooks properly. These Command Metal Hooks are my new favorite, I can’t wait to use this for Christmas decor! This one holds up to 5lbs so it was perfect for this metal leaf wreath I bought at Target when I picked up this hook. I love that I can apply it to the wall knowing exactly where the hook is going to go, then remove it to make sure it’s pressed on securely.
For the “gather” light up decor I used clear hooks. You can’t see the adhesive so it’s a simple way to hang something like this without worrying about nails or something that stands out. Plus if you need to move it (or put it in the wrong spot to begin with) you can just take off and place a new clear refill strip in it’s place. I put the battery pack for the “gather” sign behind the wreath out of sight.
I had extra hooks but I found these Command Decorative Hooks Slate Spring Clips and knew they’d be perfect for my banner!
For the banner, I printed out some past fall photos and attached them with small clothespins.
And here’s the finish product!
Isn’t it so cozy and fun?! I love that I can put up little photos like this for a few months and then take them down or switch them out without having to fill holes or re-paint. I can’t decide if I want to just switch out the photos and accessories for winter/Christmas or take down the gallery and put the tree here. Even if I do, I’ll definitely be using these Command hooks around the house!
Everything for this display came from Target. I actually frequently walk by the aisle with the Command strips and hooks to see what’s new. I may pick up some more before Christmas to hang garlands around the house!
Holidays are the best time to make memories so why not display them this time of year?! Do you love hanging up old photos during the holidays? How do you display yours? Get even more inspiration for these hooks and strips here.

Such a beautiful tribute to autumn memories! Love how this all came together, Allison! #client
I love the idea of having a seasonal decor wall gallery but never muster up the time to do it. I usually end up taking my wall decor and decorating the tops of my cabinets with them or putting them on plate stands on kitchen and bathroom counter tops. The command hooks are a good idea!
