One of the things we love splurging on at Walt Disney World is a Dole Whip with rum. Since Dole Whips are only sold at Disneyland and alcohol isn’t served in Disneyland park (it is sold at California Adventure but Dole Whips are not) we had only tried the virgin version. Well, my friends, you can now get your rummy little treat right in California and it couldn’t be easier! Scroll down to see just where you can get a Dole Whip, Dole Whip Float, or Dole Whip Float with Rum at Disneyland without even going into the park!
Where to Get a Dole Whip with Rum at Disneyland
Ok, get to the point already right? You can get a Dole Whip with rum right at the Disneyland Hotel. Tangaroa Terrace just went through a refurbishment and is now back open with a new walk-up window where you can get coffee, drinks, and even Dole Whips!
You can see the walk up window just under the sign in the photo. To the left is where you can order food (or even better pick up your food after you’ve placed your order using mobile ordering on the Disneyland app). This is in the same building area as the popular Trader Sam’s tiki bar (which is amazing in itself if you haven’t been yet).
But YES! You can just walk up to this counter and order yourself a Dole Whip float with either dark or light rum for $11.
I cannot have a Dole Whip without Tajin. If you haven’t tried it yet you MUST. I think this refurbishment really helps the traffic at the bar. Although there was almost no one around when I was there at 11:30 am during the week. It’s a great spot to meet up with friends or simply relax a bit before playing in the parks or shopping at Downtown Disney.
How to Park to Visit the Disneyland Hotel
There is an entrance to the Disneyland Hotel just at the end of Downtown Disney. If you are eating a meal at one of Disneyland Hotel’s sit down restaurants you can get your parking validated (just eating at Tangaroa Terrace does not validate your parking). If you are not eating a full sit down meal at the Disneyland Hotel you can easily park in the Downtown Disney parking lot and pay the hourly fee (it’s pricey) OR spend $20 in one transaction at a Downtown Disney shop and get 3 hours free (like a Starbucks gift card or some treats at Marceline’s Bakery). If you’re eating a sit-down meal in Downtown Disney you can get 5 hours free.
You can read all about the parking fees and guidelines here.
You can also choose to park in the Mickey and Friends parking structure for $25 for the day if you’re going into the parks.
TIP: If you park in Downtown Disney parking you will need to go through security to walk into Downtown Disney and then again when you walk out of the hotel property back into Downtown Disney. You’ll want to make sure to be ready to have your bags searched and that you don’t have selfie sticks or other banned items.
I LOVE walking around the Disneyland Resort. It’s such a peaceful property and makes for a fun little break in the day!
