Last weekend we road tripped it down to Tucson to stay at The Westward Look Wyndham Grand Resort & Spa just at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains in Tucson, AZ.
Westward Look was build in the early 1900’s and sits on 80 beautiful desert acres. I told you all on Monday how inspired by the landscape I was. It is truly beautiful and natural! Walt Disney even filmed his award-winning documentary, “The Living Desert,” in this area and housed some desert animals in the stables (you know I have a kid who loved that bit of info).
Our favorite part of the weekend was the nature walk. I (a desert native) even learned a few new things. Westward Look has some great food right on property. Just ask at any of the location and they can help with any food allergies you may have as well (I even had gluten free pancakes for breakfast one morning). It was great to walk through the chef’s garden and then see some of the menu items inspired by the seasonal food growing right outside their door!
They have a wonderful spa on property as well. Try the outdoor massage for the ultimate natural experience!
Tucson has plenty to offer if you’re wanting to explore a bit. We really love the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum if you’re looking to keep the desert theme going. You could also travel a bit and check out Kartchner Caverns.
You could easily stay on property at Westward Look as well. They have a lot to offer besides gorgeous views!
- 3 pools
- luxurious spa
- horseback riding and stables on-site
- mountain bikes
- a 24-hour fitness center
- access to eight championship tennis courts

Right now they have live music Friday and Saturday nights at the Lookout Bar and Grille. The food and drinks were great (if you follow me on Snapchat you saw my awesome drink with jalapeño and heard the fun music)!
Check out their site for specials or packages. Are you ready for a getaway? Is Tucson on your list?!
