Did you know that May is Celiac Awareness Month? Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen had us out to celebrate and check out their amazing menu. While I don’t have celiac disease I have lots of people in my life who do. I also eat completely gluten-free as I have issues with it due to another auto-immune disorder. Picazzo’s Menu is actually completely gluten free (aside from choosing a non-gluten-free pizza crust if you’d like) which makes it one of the easiest restaurants in Phoenix (well Arizona really) to eat gluten-free.
What I love about Picazzo’s is that it’s such a great spot for ANYONE to eat, not just those that need to eat gluten-free. They have a full bar, happy hour, and a nice sized menu with delicious appetizers, pasta, pizza, skillet meals, and more.
Their new Scandinavian Baked Cheese appetizer is SO good. It’s rich, buttery cheese baked to form a tasty crust similar to toasted bread without the carbs or gluten! Served with a delicious marinara sauce. I can’t wait to go back and order it again.
Jared and I both loved our meals. I got a pesto ravioli (yep, gluten free!) and Jared got a skillet meal. We’ve had their pizza as well but wanted to try some different things on the menu this time. I love how there is so much flavor throughout the menu.
I didn’t realize but was told that Picazzo’s has the only gluten-free tiramisu in Arizona. We also got the Hot Apple Crisp and both desserts were delicious and would be loved by everyone gluten-free or not.
If you haven’t given Picazzo’s a try you’ll definitely want to! They have locations across Arizona in Glendale/Arrowhead, Paradise Valley, Scottsdale, Tempe/Chandler, and Sedona.
