Do you know what a camping cabin is? Did you know that some AZ State Parks have cabins available to rent? I had NO idea so when we started searching for places to camp in AZ and the different options available, I was so excited to find that camping cabins were an option. They are my new favorite way to camp in Arizona!

What is a Camping Cabin?

A camping cabin is a mixture between a cabin and a tent. They aren’t a full house, but they are WAY more than a nylon tent! The camping cabins at AZ State Parks have tables and chairs, beds with mattresses, a/c and heat, and even lights/electricity.

Camping cabins do not have bathrooms (though bathrooms are available close by) and you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags and pillows. They basically take all the fun parts of camping and make them more comfortable!

I love the porch, the comfortable beds, the ability to adjust the climate inside, the fact that you’re completely protected from rain, wind, and even the wild animals!

Even my tent loving boys LOVED staying in a camping cabin. We’re already looking at other state parks with this option. Some are completely wheelchair accessible and some have room for more people so check each state park to see what’s available!
