I walked the red carpet for a movie premiere for the very first time! Tuesday night was the premiere of The BFG (which is in theaters July 1st!) in Hollywood at the El Capitan theater and I was there! The BFG red carpet premiere

I went as one of 25 bloggers invited to attend the premiere and interview some of the cast along with STEVEN SPIELBERG! I’ll be sharing all the details on All for the Boys but thought it would be fun to share what I decided to wear on the red carpet here. The BFG red carpet premiereThe dress was “summer chic” I already knew it would be hot but it ended up being right in the middle of a heat wave. I’m not a flowery/bows/frilly type of person so I knew I wanted something simple. Flowy sounded cooler but with my luck it would fly up and I’d flash everyone in sight (including paparazzi).

I’ve had luck finding dresses at Nordstrom so we went while we were at the mall and I tried a few dresses on. The girl helping me noticed that I was trying black dresses on (my go to) and brought me a couple of extras including this form fitting polyester/cotton dress from Leith that I was convinced would look terrible (I barely want to wear form fitting shirts right now let alone a dress). I tried it on and surprisingly loved it. I had Jared look at it and he liked it too. I bent over and sat and tried all the positions and it really wasn’t bad. It was so much more flattering than I thought. Plus it was cotton so I knew it would be cooler. I tried on one size up but I’d say it’s true to size and looked much more flattering choosing my regular size. The BFG red carpet premiereThe BFG red carpet premiereSince it was summer chic I thought I’d make it a little funkier with different colored shoes and I found these cute brown ones at TJ Maxx for $25 and they were comfortable which is hard for me to find because I have wider feet. The BFG red carpet premiereI didn’t have a bag and thought about it way too late to shop so I found this one on Amazon and had it shipped to my hotel. The BFG red carpet premiereMy necklace is from Stella and Dot and earrings from Target.

I felt comfortable with what I was wearing and that was most important to me so that I could concentrate on the experience and having fun rather than worry about what I was wearing! The BFG red carpet premiere
