This is a sponsored post for Whole Foods Market Camelback. All photos, opinions and experiences are my own.

A new Whole Foods Market is now open in Phoenix! Located at 4701 N 20th street (20th street just south of Camelback in the Towne & Country shopping center). I had a chance to preview the store on Monday before it opened!

As someone who eats gluten free I found Whole Foods when I first started on my gluten free journey over 3 years ago. They definitely have a good reputation in the gluten free community for having a good supply of gluten free options

I’ve also heard some talk of them being expensive but in our tour we got a chance to check out some value items and there are SO many items (especially the organic items and 365 product line) that are the same or cheaper than similar items at nearby grocery or specialty stores.

I personally am a huge fan of their produce section and selection of non-GMO items.

The store architecture reflects a relaxed and modern-meets-classic southwestern approach along
with nods to the mid-century design movement (my favorite) and fits in well with the area its in.

We got to try out a few recipes and this is one of my favorites to make at home

It’s grilled romaine (or you can roast it) with a bit of olive oil and salt, a dressing made with plain greek yogurt, spices (like dill yum!) and olive oil and roasted chickpeas. We made this again the other night and is my favorite way to eat romaine!

Some favorite features of the new store:

  • Twenty Highland Tavern: A relaxing and casual bar/restaurant with indoor and patio seating for more than 50 to enjoy a rotating selection of more than 36 craft beers on tap (with at least 20 local options), plus six wine taps, mixologist-inspired cocktails and an extensive menu.
  • Meat department: Highest quality meats, from animals raised without antibiotics and added hormones. All meats adhere to Whole Foods Market’s stringent quality standards, including a full line of California raised organic grass-fed beef and fresh California raised organic chicken that have been fed a non-GMO diet. Also available are in-house smoked meats, a full selection of pre-seasoned ready-to-cook meats and a variety of selections that are ready to take and home and prepare.
  • Hot and cold bar options: Prepared salads and rotating hot menu items featuring PlantStrong™ (no added oil) soups, salads and entrees. Other features will include a full Asian menu with sushi and a salad bar with many organic options from local vendors. (Stop by on Wednesdays and the salad bar is $2 off a pound!)
