How’s that mix for a title?! You may remember I recently (within the last few months) bought a trendy white rug for the family room. I’ve always wanted one and finally decided to give it a try. Well, with holiday crafting, guests in and out, plus our everyday lives, I’m sure you can imagine what it already looks like. Here it was before:

and here’s what it looks like now:

How to keep white rugs clean with pets! Can you tell where the coffee table sits? Lol!! Obviously it gets lots of traffic! Instead of calling it quits I decided to try the 2X Pet Stain & Odor Remover! Yep, pet carpet cleaner – it was made for me!

BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet Cleaner BISSELL ProHeat 2X Revolution Pet Carpet CleanerI picked up some of the BISSELL 2X Pet Stain & Odor Remover (that contains Scotchgard) on my latest Target run since it removes pet stains and soils from carpet with patented odor-control technology. They have a lot of great formulas to choose from though!

Keeping white rugs clean with pets Keeping white rugs clean with petsWhat’s great about this one is that it has Express Clean mode—leaving carpets dazzling and dry in just one hour. It’s light and easy to maneuver so cleaning is quick and easy! Two rotating power brushes and antibacterial formula help speed up the process and keep everything clean.

before and afterI tried it out when everyone was sleeping and woke up to a fresh white again rug! I love that I’ll be able to pull this out and clean up easily and maybe more importantly quickly so we’ll have more time to make a mess 😉 Speaking of making a mess the boys’ latest favorite project involved the dogs!

DIY dog paw craftThey wanted to do something with the dogs’ paw prints so we decided to make some paw print ornaments that can also be used as gift tags! They are super easy as long as you have a willing participant and don’t mind a bit of a mess. Start with some blank ornaments, a non toxic paint (we found one meant for little kids) and a nice big space. Have your dog sit and lightly press their paw into the paint and then test it on some kraft paper.

I ended up liking one of the prints on the paper so much that we put it inside of a clear ornament, maybe we’ll add some tinsel or glitter!

DIY dog paw craftOnce dry, you can have the kids write the dogs’ names or years on the ornaments and then use them on gifts as tags or get them right on the tree!
