When I posted a photo of my now naked fireplace on Instagram yesterday I figured I’d start a hashtag since we have lots of fun (and at least one BIG) renovation projects in the works.

We are replacing the flooring in about 1400 square feet of our house in the next couple of weeks which has in turn lead to some more projects. One of the choices I wanted to make was to choose at least 2 rugs for the living/family areas. We won’t have carpet in these rooms anymore so I wanted some sort of rug to ground and soften up the space just a bit.

With 2 boys and 2 dogs I decided against anything plush, too light or that can’t be washed. I’m big on monochrome for the floor especially and love graphic lines. Here are my (budget) choices.

1. IKEA $199-$299/ 2. IKEA $119  3. Rugs USA $193 with coupon 4. IKEA $79 – $99 5. American Furniture Warehouse $99

My other decision is to have both rugs be the same or different. When you walk in the house from the front door or the back door, both rugs will be in the same sight line. I hate choices! (but I really love them) What would you do?
