Of all my years living here I have never been to Shamrock Farms so I was excited to accept an invitation to tour the farm and learn about new products!

My little guy LOVED it and told all his friends about it when he got back to school. We learned that they have 10,000 cows, how they milked them (got to feel the machine – I wished my breast pump was that gentle) how they process the milk, how the cows are kept, and about the difference in the organic cows (that’s the milk we get)

(those are marks on their back to let the farmers know different things about the cows – where they are in their cycle, how many babies they’ve had etc)

The cows were so calm and relaxed getting milked. They knew right where to go and what to do. No pushing or shoving 😉

Did I mention we got to feed a baby cow?

SO cute! (that was our favorite part)

We also got to eat ice cream, taste milk, and learn about their new flavored sour cream coming out next month

I learned that my son didn’t know what a milk man was. Bad mom!

We thought it was cool that the farm is on property that was owned by John Wayne! If you’re ever in the area and want to see a dairy farm in action – it’s a fun tour!

Disclosure: I was invited to tour the farm with a group of bloggers and was given a small promotional gift – all experiences and opinions are my own!
