I’m starting a new mini series on how I’m organizing my studio! Here’s the thing, I’m a very right brained person when it comes to organizing or keeping clean. While I love a nice clean clutter free space, it’s just not how I work. I’ve developed my own type of organization that works for me so I thought I’d share it through this little series along with how I just re-did our home studio (which I share with my husband).

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1

First, let’s talk travel storage. Storage that’s perfect to move around the house or out of the house!

Creative Options sent me some of their awesome craft storage solutions and I have to say, I’m impressed! I have tons of tote bags that I usually throw everything in to take with me, but these provide so much more stability and organization without much more effort. I thought it would be fun to show you how I use each of the pieces.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1First up is the Large Signature 5-Pocket Tote (available in-stores at Hobby Lobby and online at Joann and Walmart). This is my general “what I’m working on” tote. I love that it’s soft but has some sturdiness to the sides so it doesn’t fall over when I move it. I can still “throw” stuff in there but it doesn’t get lost at the bottom of a soft bag that swallows it when I try to search for something.

I also put my coloring books and pencils in there for when I want to play around while watching tv!

This one is marketed towards the leader or jewelry maker but I use it just a bit differently.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1 All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1This is the perfect memorabilia keeper for me! I have loads of memorabilia all over the place and when I am working on a scrapbook page or mini album I have to look in 10 different places to find a ticket stub or card. This keeps them all safe and in one place. There’s even a removable zipper pouch that I can keep smaller items (like those ticket stubs) in.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1 All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1SO much better than throwing them all in a box! It doesn’t keep me from filling up my purse but when I clean it out now there is somewhere for this stuff to go besides on top of the desk.

The Crochet Tote in “Viva La Pink” (available at Joann) is my current seasonal favorite because it’s the perfect size and shape to hold my gift wrapping supplies.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1 All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1I can take this out to the dining table or just pull it on top of my desk when I’m ready to wrap a few gifts so I have everything on hand.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1Much like my scrapbooking, I like to limit my gift wrapping supplies each season so that everything coordinates and so I’m not spending 15 minutes picking out a ribbon!

The Total Tote in “Vineyard” is my go to front seat or travel solution for making mini albums or traveler’s journals on the go.

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1 All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1I love how sturdy it is, the size and that it keeps everything I need in place without having to dig around. Because if you’ve ever had to dig to find a tiny paperclip while crammed in an airplane or car seat you know what I’m talking about!

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1 All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1I feel like all of these products have just enough pockets and spaces to keep things organized without having too many for my scatterbrain to get lost in. Since I’m sharing “studio” space I often move around the house and moving big boxes around just doesn’t make sense!

Check out Amy’s awesome video and her stinking cute son Jack (loving her channel) about some of the same products and how she uses them. You’ll also see how you can enter to win some of them!

All for the Memories - Organizing for the Unorganized - the craft room part 1I can’t wait to show you the rest of the studio! Until then, how do you organize supplies? Are you a pile maker like me?
