I am so excited to starting thinking about Fall now that school is already back in session here. I’m more of a slow, add things as I go type of seasonal decorator. That way I can shop for fun new items a little before I get out my old stand-by favorites. It’s no secret that I LOVE succulents. They just blend in so well with the desert we live in so I wanted my first Fall decor to be a new wreath made with some artificial succulents from Hobby Lobby (ok I may have just been looking for an excuse to finally buy all the succulents I’ve been eyeing there). DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath I am a little outside the box when it comes to seasonal decorating so initially I was going to make a square wreath, but I’ve seen a few triangle ones lately and decided that I’d try my hand at a triangle wreath. Browsing Hobby Lobby is my FAVORITE way to be inspired for a project. They have the most amazing home decor, craft supplies and seasonal items. I’m not a huge shopper but Hobby Lobby is always a store I can spend a long time in because it’s so fun to be inspired there! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath There weren’t any triangle wreath forms so I actually found some copper tubing in the hobby/model car aisle. These are 12″ long each. Then I picked up some succulents, pumpkin floral picks and rope/ribbon. Secure the knot with hot glue or super glue, especially if you’re going to cut the ends (you could keep the ends long and use it to hang but I wanted a thicker rope for that). DIY Fall succulent triangle wreathDIY Fall succulent triangle wreath To hold the succulents I cut a piece of cardboard in the shape I wanted the plants to sit. Tip: hold the florals tightly in the general shape you want them to go so you can get an idea of how big to cut the cardboard. You don’t want it sticking out the sides. I love the pumpkins for a touch of Fall that’s perfect for the transition! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath I knew it would be a little side heavy since I wanted that “off centered” look so to make sure it hung straight I added a removable wall hook that the back of the florals could rest on. It worked perfectly! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath I love that it works great leaning on a tabletop too! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath Our door gets super harsh light still this time of year and I don’t like to wear out my wreaths in the sun so I keep them inside to welcome people as they walk in! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath Have you checked out all the Fall decor up at Hobby Lobby lately? I need to go back for a few kitchen pieces! Ready to shop or make your own wreath? Don’t forget your Hobby Lobby coupon! You can find them on their site or on the app! DIY Fall succulent triangle wreath
