We don’t do a ton of decorating for the holidays (though my boys would love it if we did every inch of the house) but I do get into the crafty spirit around the holidays and usually come up with a few new holiday DIY projects to keep myself busy. This Disneyland (or Walt Disney World) Haunted Mansion inspired sign was SO easy to make and brings just a bit of Disney magic to Halloween in our house.

How to Make a Disney Haunted Mansion Hitchhiking Ghosts Sign

To make your own sign you’ll want to gather up your supplies. Here’s what I used:

Cut out the vinyl using the directions appropriate for your cutting machine. I made my own words that you can get here and then purchased the Hitchhiking Ghost Silhouette image from Etsy. Just make sure your words and ghosts will fit on your sign depending on what size you get.

Apply the vinyl to the wood plaque. Since this plaque was already gray washed I didn’t need to add anything to it! You can use transfer tape, but I just added each letter individually since I couldn’t be bothered to run to the store. It was pretty simple with this one.

Hang and enjoy! That’s it! It’s so simple it’s a little ridiculous really, but that’s my favorite kind of holiday craft. The boys LOVE this new addition to our Halloween decor.

What’s great about the vinyl is that I can pack this away for next year, or just remove the vinyl and make a new sign for Thanksgiving or Christmas! It stays on well but is easy to remove so that it can be switched out if needed.
