Disclosure: I received 2 media tickets to help facilitate this story but the love of Disney and opinions are all my own.

I don’t think there have been any official studies, but Disneyland has to be on the top of the list for most scrapbooked places. If you’re the memory keeping type (whether you throw things in a box or plan out an entire album) I thought I’d give you some ideas of things to collect while you’re at Disneyland so you can make a little list or keep your eyes open for more ideas when you do go!

Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland

First let’s start with the obvious things you might have already thought of:

  • tickets
  • park maps (these change often so they’re fun to collect)
  • daily schedule
  • room keys
  • napkins/food packaging
  • receipts
  • tags from purchased souvenirs
  • Fastpass tickets if you don’t end up using them for some reason
  • character autographs
  • ride photos (you can get free ones emailed to you from Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters)Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • Autopia driver’s license – you can find these when you exit Autopia!
  • celebration buttons – get these at City Hall or Guest Services
  • squished pennies – for just $.51 these are fun to collect!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland

Memorabilia ideas you may not have thought about:

  • Get a fortune from Fortune Red in New Orleans Square near the Pieces of Eight shop (not inside of it but in a hallway near there)Memorabilia to collect at DisneylandMemorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • Have your fortune told by Esmerelda on Main StreetMemorabilia to collect at DisneylandMemorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • The boys discovered these Star Wars name tags written in Aurebesh at a little shop in Tomorrowland. They are a fun souvenir and I got to keep the paper as memorabilia!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • If you ask super nicely at the end of your Jungle Cruise, and they have some available, you might be able to get a map of the cruise you just took!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • At California Adventure be sure to stop by the Chamber of Commerce (to the left as you walk in and past the first set of shops) and pick up a copy of The Buena Vista Bugle – it’s free!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at DisneylandMemorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • Another favorite is to visit the Animation Academy at California Adventure. It’s a nice little break and SO much fun for little and big kids. You’ll get to take home everyone’s drawings.Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  •  You can’t bring home your favorite foods, but you can take photos of them!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • You’ll obviously snap your kids’ faces and favorite moments as well.Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland
  • If you do buy souvenirs like trading pins or, my favorite, Mickey Ears, take a photo of them when you get home on a white board or table, then use that photo as a piece of memorabilia itself!Memorabilia to collect at Disneyland

I hope I gave you some new ideas of things to collect on your next trip! Let me know what your favorite memorabilia is, or what you’d add to this list so we can check it out next time. If you’re visiting before September 5th don’t forget to check out the 60th Anniversary events and merchandise before they’re gone. If you’re visiting in the Fall be sure to check out Halloween Time and Mickey’s Halloween Party!

  1. Thank you for sharing these great ideas! My family and I are going to Disneyland in December 2016 and can’t wait to collect some of your ideas! I am also a Disney Travel Planner and will share these ideas with my clients!! Love your site!

We recently found out that you can get a free button if you buy the first corn dog of the day from the little red wagon and the first Dole Whip and Dole Float from the Tiki Room. They don’t have a unique picture on them, they are just an “I am celebrating” button (or something like that, it’s been a while since I got one) that someone has written “first corn dog of the day” and a date on.

Oh that’s so fun! We’ll have to try it next time we go!

  3. We have a whole box of Disney memorabilia from our trip. I didn’t know about the Buena Vista Bugle! How cool is that? Your photos are absolutely gorgeous!
