With Halloween just around the corner, I figure it’s probably about time to get some fun holiday décor up! With all the traveling we’ve been doing this year, I’m taking a simpler approach with Target. I found some great foundation pieces that will work through all the winter holidays, so I can add fun new accessories for each holiday without worrying about switching up the entire look.

I love buying new pieces like the spider banner or the paper bats, but it can be overwhelming to change up all the pieces on my mantle or dining table centerpiece. I thought it would be fun to share what I got that I’ll be keeping up throughout the fall and winter, and what I’ll be switching out for each holiday.

For my mantle, I started out with a foundation of these gorgeous, sturdy candleholders and this gold vase from Threshold, along with this fun clipboard frame from Room Essentials.

For Halloween, I added some fall leaves to the vase and a photo I took printed on foil paper to the clipboard frame, along with the Spritz Halloween bats and spider garland.

For Thanksgiving, I’ll switch out the garland and maybe add a few more pumpkins or flowers. Then when Christmas comes along, it will be simple enough to allow for the stockings, new flowers, candles, and maybe a few other fun new pieces!

Another place that’s always decorated for the holidays is the dining table. Since our table is fairly small, I try to keep the centerpiece small and simple as well.

I LOVE the Target Threshold plaid pieces and how they can mix and match so well with not only each other, but also for each holiday. I’ll keep this metal serving tray, the plaid tray, and these gold bowls as the centerpiece throughout the holidays.

For Halloween, I added a bit of texture with this piece of spider lace from the Spritz line and a few fresh gourds from the produce section!

I’ll change out the lace for a table runner or tablecloth and some pinecones for Thanksgiving, and then add some glittered snowballs or Christmas trees for Christmas!

I’m now even more excited to decorate for the holidays now that I know what to add and where it goes! Having some neutral foundation pieces makes decorating for the holidays SO much simpler, and, honestly, so much more fun!

Are you thinking ahead to how you’ll decorate for the holidays this year?
