I love the holidays but I don’t love the craziness that sometimes surrounds them. I also love entertaining but not always all the time and effort it takes to pull off an awesome get together. I’ve pulled together some of my favorite easy appetizers for an easy holiday appetizer table using products I found at Smart & Final including their First Street brand items!

Easy holiday appetizer table

I have 3 recipes to share from this appetizer table and they are all pretty quick and easy! You can easily buy pre-made items in addition to these and grab a few fresh flowers or decorations like that super cute rosemary tree while you’re in the store!

Smart & Final

Bacon Wrapped Dates

You’ll need:

  • bacon (I like the First Street hickory smoked bacon for these)
  • dates

Preheat the oven to 350F. Cut bacon in half and wrap around pitted dates (just pull the pits out if they aren’t already pitted). Place on parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes or until bacon is nice and crispy.

I like to make these first because they are super hot coming out of the oven and could use time to cool but they are also good cooled, like candy! If you’ve never tried bacon wrapped dates don’t count them out. I think you’ll love them!

Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms

You’ll need:

  • fresh mushrooms
  • First Street sausage of your choice
  • First Street cheese of choice (optional but my little one likes mozzarella).

Preheat oven to 350F. Wash and pull stems off mushrooms. Place about a TBSP size ball of sausage into the hole in the mushroom and place on parchment lined baking sheet. If using cheese, place a small amount of cheese on top. Bake for 25 minutes or until sausage is cooked all the way through. Serve warm.

Dairy-Free Artichoke Spinach Dip

You’ll need:

  • First Street 16oz  frozen spinach
  • about 28oz artichoke hearts chopped (Smart & Final carries smaller jars or the large ones any will work marinated or not)
  • 3 Tbsp favorite First Street oil
  • 1 cup cashews
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper

Place the artichokes and frozen spinach in a medium pan and heat over medium on the stove. Stir until completely defrosted and warm. In a high speed blender or food processor, blend cashews and oil until creamy (or the consistency of a peanut butter). Add spices to the cashew mixture. Once the spinach mixture is nice and warm mix in the cashew mixture. Serve warm.

This recipe is SO good and much lighter than the traditional cheesy version. Serve with bread, chips or veggies.

Place some fruit or other veggies on the table and you have a completely delicious (and easy) appetizer table. To finish off the look I found that adorable tree at Smart & Final along with mixed nuts. For some reason our appetizer tables or side tables always had mixed nuts as a kid so I like including them!

Smart & Final is such an easy spot to get everything you need from fresh foods, frozen and even meats! I love that they carry the warehouse sized items (since I have 2 boys) without a club fee – plus, it’s easier and less daunting to run in and get what you need. I picked up all of this (plus a few extras) and was in and out in 15 minute. You can stay in touch with Smart & Final on Facebook or Twitter.

What’s your favorite holiday appetizer?

  1. Your table is beautiful and the food looks so gourmet, although it is so simple to make. I would never in a million years think of wrapping figs in bacon. Now I totally want to try it. #client

  2. This is a beautiful table set-up. I especially love your idea of using wrapping paper as a table liner. It looks great!

  3. Our family has been making the bacon wrapped dates for 3 years now and we all love them.
The first time my niece made them I thought yuck! But they insisted that I try them so I did and have been in love ever since. But don’t go by the recipe time just check the oven every few minutes . The bacon must be crispy. My niece made them for Christmas and she said she over cooked them. The bacon was super crispy and you know what, they tasted even better. It is now a holiday tradition .
