We were talking about how to make a house a home on a thread at Studio Calico recently and it got me to thinking that maybe I should take my own advice of working on it one small area or vignette at a time.
I had this shelf and collection of frames up since shortly after we moved in but 1 frame had no picture and 2 of them had vertical photos when I wanted the frame to sit horizontally, so while printing other photos I finally chose some to print and finish the ledge.
I don't think I'll be getting a headboard in here anytime soon (there are other things that need attention first) so I figured I could work on other parts of the room like finally finishing this ledge. Plus, I want to finish up both of the "nightstands" soon and I'm hoping that by posting it here it will hold me accountable.
I used a collection of black and white photos and my letterpress print from Yella Dog Press.
Can you believe these two didn't care enough about my photographing efforts to move their lazy bums?
"What? You want me to GET UP?"
"What if I just roll over and look cute, will that work?"
"Mom, I keep telling you those annoying noises you make to get me excited to look for a photo do NOT work anymore."
